Some things about me . . . I am a person who is willing to pause during a difficult time to consult God. I am a person who loves my siblings and would give them the universe. I am a person who God shares things with because I love everything He shares. I am a person who believes she can learn new things. I am a person who wants to be wiser. I am a person who is faithful & kind & lovable to my husband. I am a person who believes animals will go to heaven. I am a person who gives. Habits that get me closer to the person I want to be . . . •Getting out into nature •Embracing what’s hard •Making art •Being quick at saying ‘yes’ or ‘no’ •Journaling •Sharing my story •Envisioning my future and taking steps towards it My origin story (or at least partly) . . . When I was eight my dad died unexpectedly. This triggered a deep yearning for purpose in my life. Every moment and season of transition challenges me to realign with my purpose because it’s an opportunity to pause. It’s a crossroads to view the terrain, ask God what He’s seeing, and do my best to see the same. I think modern theories fall short in answering my deeper questions about purpose, because the aim is off the mark. I am for something intensely different than gaining attention or power from money or the self-satisfaction of title. My aim is to drop all that to follow a spiritually marked path. An excellent path from God that has no roots in earth’s treasures (although God abundantly blesses me with those) but rather, is like a hidden portal on the light and way of God, as Jesus showed us. I’ve chosen to live a creative path because in me is a creative soul. My outlet is dance & movement & play. My ministry is art & study & meditation. My career is to uplift others. Why a “just have the courage to be” model doesn’t work for me anymore . . . Embracing fear used to be my model, to learn through what scared me. That notion, to learn through fear, is not bad. But, for me it became an incorrect focus. It should be an available tool . . . It’s very useful. But as a lifestyle it’s not the right aim for me. My model now is to listen to the still, small voice of God. He is benevolent. And in this model I can see with clearer eyes, a calmer demeanor, and a more joyful heart. Proverbs 21:21 says, “The lovers of God who chase after righteousness will find all their dreams come true: an abundant life drenched with favor and a fountain that overflows with satisfaction.” gratis pro deo Free and for God ~Jesse
